Thank you, St. Martin’s Press for this ARC

I hate comparing author’s current work with previous work, so I won’t do that. I will say the reason I was so eager to read this book was because of my love for Paris’ first book, Behind Closed Doors. I read it in a day and was so extremely satisfied with the story from beginning to end.
Bring Me Back started strong. I was pulled into the story, eager to know what happened to Layla. Even more eager to know if Finn and Layla’s sister, Ellen, had anything to do with her disappearance.
The power of a good book is truly in the author’s hands. They have the power to write a story that’s fast-paced and leaves you wanting more, but in return, they also have the power to write an ending that makes you blink slowly, hoping that the ending you just read somehow morphs into something amazing, something that leaves you speechless… in a good way.
Sadly, the ending ruined this book for me. The fire this book began with dwindled quickly within the last ten pages. It felt hurried, rushed and not thought out fully. I’d kill for an alternate ending!
Well, not literally, but you know. The story was too good to end this way.
